Yuri the Space Bear is one of Zelda's Monsters. He is an ugly monstrosity to Zelda and her family, particularly Yung-Star, but to humans he is so adorable! His furry cuteness however hides a sinister and devious mind. He is possessed with the power of Telekinesis and has the ability to bend metal objects with the mind, strong enough to hold back the whole weight of the White House itself. He is presumably very intelligent, but for some reason the power of speech eludes him. Not even Zelda can understand his mumbles and groans.

- He and Lord Tempo are the only monsters that don't appear in Mind Monster.
- Yuri's power of Telekinesis is constantly refereed to as the ability to bend metal objects with the mind, but the concept is really about manipulating objects in general with the mind. Either Tony Barwick was misinformed about the characteristics of telekinesis when he wrote these stories or he wanted to simplify the concept for younger audiences. The later doesn't seem likely though as his stories often delve into concepts rather complex for young minds to understand.
- It is likely (or at least possible) that Yuri was named after legendary cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.
