The Last Of The Zanadus is the 14th produced episode and the 12th broadcast episode of the series Fireball XL5.

Plot

Returning from a 10-year space exploring mission, Major Jim Ireland, a friend of Steve's, is unaware that he is under mind control to Kudos, the last of the Zanadu people, who has sworn revenge on the Lazoons. He tries to kill Zoonie by poisoning the creature. However, the only cure is to go to Zanadu, a remote planet where Jim was abducted by Kudos.

• Steve reveals that Venus has only been on the team for five years, while he has been a patrol operative since before Jim left Earth 10 years ago.
• When Steve pulls his ray gun on Jim, a real hand is seen in the foreground while the Jim puppet appears in the background.

Remarks

• The Lazoons, while reasonably intelligent and good mimics, don't appear to be sentient or violent. How did they get to that planet in the first place, and what did they do to so damage the population?
